Parents have complained about their children’s lack of gratitude since the beginning of time. Is it really true kids these days are far less thankful than we were? Ask your parents. Go ahead – I’ll wait. Chances are we weren’t any better and although it seems there is so much more to be grateful for our kids only know what they know.
How can we help them see the daily things that make life so much better? We have to start expressing how great our day was. How great to see all the cousins at the reunion. How great to be taken seriously when we talk about feelings. Don’t wait for huge accomplishments to tell your kids (parents, neighbors, pastor) how awesome they are.
It’s in the small details that we live, laugh and love. That’s the greatfulness that serves us.
